| Designed and Painted by Mary Hughes. I enjoyed the yard long Blue Toile painting I did earlier so I decided while I was on a roll, I would paint this ceiling fan in that same theme. While I painted this I thought of how you would enjoy it. I have this hope that you will relax on your sofa or the bed and just enjoy looking up at the detail. I want this to a piece of art that you will truly treasure. The fan is vintage. I'm guessing 15 years. It was installed but rarely used. I painted each paddle with 3 distinct full roses and several little springs of lilac. The metal ring I've left simple with sprigs of lilac and leaves all around. If you decide to use it in a room of your home or if you choose to put it out on that wonderful old porch of yours you'll find that daylight, room light or low light all show off different aspects of the piece and play with the color. Acrylic gouache on wood and metal. Hanging hardware included. Signed and dated. Sealed with matt acrylic. Note: The motor is vintage and even though it was rarely used I am selling this "as is" and I don't guarantee the motor as I would if it was new. Scroll down for a closer look.
